Cooking at home…can it be done each night?

You wake up, get the kids ready for school, start getting ready for work, make lunches, rush everyone out the door. Go through your day, hit the afternoon slump, pick the kids up, run a couple of errands, and then think…oh no…what do we eat for dinner?!?! Let me just grab a pizza!

Does this sound familiar?

So how do you change this pattern to adopt a healthier lifestyle?

It can be done and takes a little practice and discipline! You can definitely do it! So, let me give you some tips to make cooking dinner each night a little easier after a crazy busy day!

Let’s start on Saturday…write down what you are going to make each night for dinner. If you have a visible list for the week, it helps your mindset on cooking each night!

Next, make your shopping list. Making sure you have everything you need is so important to sticking with cooking each night. If you are missing ingredients, it makes cooking a challenge. You want to make this as easy as you can. To cook dinner each night and have your family eat healthier eat night does not have to be hard and complicated, it’s all about being prepared and having the ingredients.

Google or search Pinterest for recipes…there are a ton of recipes that are easy, and you do not have to use a ton of crazy ingredients!

Now if you follow me, you know that I stress a lower carbohydrate diet with no sugar and no refined carbohydrates. So I do suggest planning meals that your family will eat and that follow this kind of diet. The less sugar and refined carbohydrates the better you and your family’s health will be!

Do you have a slow cooker or crock pot? Instant pot? Air fryer? These are great tools to have to make cooking easy!

You can make a whole meal in an Instant pot or air fryer in a half an hour!

Make your list and get your groceries on Saturday…then Sunday cut up veggies to have ready for the week, make a huge salad to have for the week, hard boil eggs to have for snacks, have grilled chicken for lunches! Make Sunday your prep day!

The slow cooker is another great way to throw meat and veggies in for a delicious meal as soon as you come home! Defrost your meat the night before…throw everything in the slow cooker in the morning! Dinner is done!

I am going to share a couple of recipes for you to try…you can do this!!!

Air Fryer Chicken

~2 pounds of organic chicken

~1/4 tsp organic Paprika

~1/4 tsp organic Garlic powder

~1/4 tsp Sea Salt

~Avocado oil spray

~Cut chicken breasts into strips. Sprinkle chicken with all spices and place in the Air Fryer. Spray chicken with avocado oil spray. Set Air fryer to 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

~While the chicken is cooking, you can boil or roast some veggies. Or you can pair the chicken a salad.

Dinner is done! That simple!

Herb Chicken and Tomatoes

~4 Boneless organic chicken breasts

~sea salt and pepper

~1 14.5oz can of organic diced tomatoes

~2 tsp of organic Italian seasoning

~1 tsp of fresh minced organic garlic

~1-2 tbsp organic heavy cream

~Place all ingredients in the slow cooker on low for 6 hours. Before serving, add in heavy cream and then serve!

Don’t overcomplicate meals! You can feed your family healthy foods that are easy to cook. The less take out you are eating the better for your overall health. Take out is full of sugar, chemicals, seed oils and preservatives that over time will take a toll on your health and the health of your family. Make changes now so that illness does not get to you and your family any time soon!

You have the ability to make changes and stick with them. Changes take time to get used to, but mindset is crucial when making changes for health. Do not get discouraged, just keep moving forward!
